Uche Elendu, a Nollywood actress, has expressed concern about the rising cost of eggs in Nigeria.
In recent months, the price of eggs has risen along with the price of other foodstuffs in major cities across the country.
An egg sold for N60 to N70 last month. However, the price has risen to between N80 and N90.
Elendu, lamenting the high cost of goods on the market, prayed that Nigerians do not go hungry or starve.
The actress was perplexed as to how the common man could survive in such a climate.
On her Instagram story, she wrote: “Egg is now 90naira, Oh lord help your children do not let hunger and starvation ravage Nigerians. An egg is now luxury. How much then will the chicken that lays the egg cost? I fear for the masses.”
