Following mass retrenchment of staffs by Access Bank, stating that the COVID 19 lockdown had affected the growth of the bank within the past month.
The development came after the bank Donated donated N1bn to the fight against COVID-19.
The decision did not sit well with most Nigerians as they criticise the bank for donating money to the federal government instead of using the money to maintain it’s workers, especially this time they needed the bank most.
While reacting, a former minister of aviation, Femi Fani-kayode took to his official Twitter handle to blast the bank for taking an illogical step, stating that access bank betrayed it’s workers and turned it’s back on the workers when they needed it most, this is because the bank was more interested in it’s profits and appeasing Buhari.
Taking to twitter he wrote;
You gave 1 Billion Naira to the FG to fight Covid 19 & the next day you sacked hundreds of your loyal staff.
