Hon. Joan Onyemaechi Mrakpor, the kidnapped former Delta State Commissioner for Technical Education, has been released by her abductors.
Mrakpor, a former member of the House of Representatives, was freed late Friday night and was taken to an undisclosed hospital in the Delta State capital for medical attention.
The kidnappers had initially demanded a ransom of N1 billion, but it is unclear if the money was paid before her release.
Delta State Police Command spokesperson, SP Bright Edafe, confirmed Mrakpor’s release late Friday night but did not provide further details.
Mrakpor, popularly known as ‘Ada Anioma’, was kidnapped by gunmen on 30th of July, 2024, from her church premises along DBS Road in Asaba, resulting in the death of a Police aide and one other person, while several others were injured. [CONTINUE READING HERE]>>>>
