The three Suspects arrested for attacking Christian Universal Church with explosives on Sunday, 29 November 2020 have confessed following a thorough interrogation.
Parading the Suspects on Thursday, December 3, the commissioner of police in Rivers State, CP Joseph G. Mukan, reveal that the suspects confessed to attacking the church belonging to the father of Rivers Governor, Nyesom Wike, in Port Harcourt.
The commissioner identified the Suspects as Progress Onwudinjo ‘m’ 37 years from Etche LGA, Rivers State, Apuru Victor ‘m’ 23 years from Ebonyi State and John Okorie ‘m’ 38 years from Abia State.
The commissioner said the Suspects reveal in their statements that they were members of proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB.
They also confessed that they acted on the directive of a certain benefactor whose name will not be made public for obvious reasons pending the outcome of the investigation.
Freshrepoters reported that a church in Port Harcourt, Christian Universal Church, belonging to belonging to J.N.E. Wike, the father of the Rivers state governor, Nyesom Wike was attacked by five people on Saturday night, but three of them were apprehended by youth and security officers in the area.
