2 killed, scores injured as gunmen attack Taraba community

Unknown gunmen killed two people in a new attack on Rafinkada village in Taraba State’s Wukari Local Government Council on Tuesday.

Several people were verified to have been shot in the horrific incident, with varied degrees of gunshot wounds.

Property worth millions of Naira was also reportedly damaged by the assailants.

Residents informed reporters that the intruders broke into the complex when the residents were sound sleeping.

Residents emphasized how gunfire pulled them out of their beds, and that the whereabouts of several community members were still unclear.

Another source who also claimed to have narrowly escaped the scene confirmed that while two persons were killed on the spot, several others, according to him, managed to escape with gunshot injuries.
Chairman of Wukari LGA, Adi Daniel, who confirmed that attack, also admitted that two persons were killed by the gunmen.

Though normalcy, according to him, had been restored to the community, the need for more security operatives to be deployed to the area, he believed, can no longer be ignored.
