A 15-year-old, a sophomore and student athlete at Bear Creek High School, Jo’Vianni Smith, killed herself last week inside her Stockton, California, home.
Jo’Vianni killed herself after she reportedly struggled to cope with the state’s stay-at-home orders amid the coronavirus outbreak.
She was found dead inside her home after she hanged herself last week
Her mother Danielle Hunt believed Jo’Vianni’s death was caused by the ‘pressures from coping with the self-isolation’ during the COVID-19 pandemic.
We can’t think that our kids are OK just because … I felt that I was doing all that I could as a parent to leave the communication open.
She added that Jo’Vianni did not leave a note behind, describing her daughter as ‘bubbly,’ ‘loving,’ and the light of her world.
